About us
Partner Africa Ethiopia is a project to promote and strengthen the German-Ethiopian textile business partnership.
The Confederation of the German Knitting Industry – GESAMTMASCHE, the Ethiopian Textile and Garment Manufacturers Association – ETGAMA and the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture – MoA jointly implement the project initiatives. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and supported by sequa gGmbH.
The main focus of the project is on the further development of the Ethiopian textile sector, starting with cotton production, by strengthening competitiveness and quality, in particular through measures for sustainable cotton and textile production and establishing business contacts with companies in Germany, Europe and internationally. This is intended to contribute to the long-term safeguarding and increase of jobs in Ethiopia and to increase the proportion of transparently and sustainably produced textile products.

The 10th Anniversary of the African Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW 2024) was successfully conducted from 08 to 11 Nov 2024 at the Skylight Hotel, Addis Ababa. The ASFW has become one of the largest African textile events where manufacturers from cotton, textile, machinery and accessory sectors join together to raise awareness of Africa both as an investment and as a sourcing destination.
The ASFW 2024 event has created opportunities for industry actors with its International Trade Exhibition, High level Conferences and Professional B2B and B2G Meetings
Partner Africa Ethiopia Project team has taken the opportunity to attend and exhibit at the ASFW 2024 fair and promoted its ongoing capacity building activities in the Ethiopian cotton and textile sectors
On the occasion of the ASFW 2024, the PAE project has also successfully organized the cotton project workshop at the Ramada Hotel on 07 Nov 2024 with the aim to promote the PAE project objectives and bring the most important cotton value chain stakeholders such as cotton producers, ECPGEA, Textile Manufacturers, ETGAMA, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry, Ethiopian Industrial Input development Enterprise for continued project collaboration and partnership
